Nuance & Microsoft: The Dragon Acquisition
On the 12th of April, earlier this week, Microsoft announced their acquisition of Nuance Communications – The manufacturers of the Dragon speech recognition software you know and love.
If you haven’t seen it on the news, Microsoft is in the process of purchasing the speech technology for an astounding $19.7 billion.
The purchase between Nuance and Microsoft is expected to be completed at the end of 2021.
The acquisition is incredibly exciting for the industry and for the Nuance range of products, having the two leading companies in the arena of software merging is going to bring about massive improvements and improved accessibility to the technology.
VoicePower has been a Nuance Premier Partner for many years now and believe that this journey will lead to exciting developments with the different versions of Dragon as well as new possibilities.
It goes without saying that Microsoft’s willingness to invest such a large amount is testimony to the value and quality of the Dragon products.
