Ah productivity – The buzzword of the last decade.

Do more, learn more, work more. And we are expected to do so whilst juggling other responsibilities, avoiding burnout and protecting our mental health.

Simple, right? Wrong! The standards within the workplace set employees up to fail.

Well, the good news is that there are realistic, healthy ways to boost your productivity whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance… Speech recognition!

Allow us to explain how speech recognition can improve productivity…

Insert large bodies of text with ease

Auto-Text is one of the most (if not the most) popular Dragon features.

It allows you to assign bodies of text/templates to a word or phrase; This allows you to input frequently used text with ease.

For example, for GPs this could be a referral letter template, or for lawyers, an attendance note template.

Not only does this save repetitive typing of the same things, but also the copying and pasting of various documents.

Access your voice profile from any device

The roaming voice profile is one of many benefits that came from swapping most Dragon versions to the cloud.

In non-technical terms, a roaming profile means that your specific license will follow you from one device to another. So, your favourite voice commands, corrections, and default settings, are always available.

This will boost improve productivity because there are no limitations as to when and where you use your Dragon software; On your mobile, at a client’s office, on your home PC – Your work can be accessed when you need it.

Control your computer with your voice

Voice commands brings the same kind of productivity as Auto-Texts, but with a difference.

Voice commands prompt Dragon to complete a particular action – This could be saving your work, capitalising a word, or even clicking the mouse.

As you can imagine, this nifty feature is great for productivity due to making many tasks hands-free and quicker (often completed in seconds).

There are various in-built voice commands that your Dragon will know by default (download our free cheat sheet for those), but you can also create your own depending on your workflow.

Voice commands are also a great accessibility feature, allowing for minimal manual operation.

Here’s a quick example 👇🏻

Get user analytics

This is one for the larger sites. It’s a way to see how (and how much!) your staff are using Dragon.

The designated administrator is able to see how many minutes users have been using Dragon for, how many times they’ve logged in, and much more. This allows management to keep track of their progress and identify potential barriers or issues with their roll-out.

Identifying these flaws means that they can be tackled promptly and resolved, allowing to increased uptake and productivity.

Dictate into *nearly* every app

The Dictation Box makes dictation in ‘unsupported’ applications possible. Dragon does this by automatically opening a text box if integration isn’t possible with the chosen application.

This is a great way to ensure that the benefits of speech recognition can be transferred across your entire workflow – No matter the application.
