South Yorkshire Fire Service Turn To Dragon for Access To Work
After an accident, Gavin was left paralysed from the chest down. He was unsure how he’d return to work and operate his computer efficiently to be a productive member of the team. VoicePower supported him in finding a solution.
After a recent accident left me paralysed from the chest down, I was unsure how I would return to work and operate my computer efficiently to be a productive member of the team.
After liaising with Access to Work I was put in contact with VoicePower who advised on suitable equipment and programs for my physical needs. The main adaptation has been the installation of voice recognition software Dragon to my computer. This along with 3 half-day days training sessions has allowed me to perform everyday computer tasks just as quickly, or quicker than before my accident.
I use Dragon daily to complete work within Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. I have found this software surprisingly reliable, accurate and easy to use.
My first attempt at using the software was very hard work. After only two half-day training sessions I felt confident using the software and was able to complete work on time and to a high standard.
The trainers provided by VoicePower were very professional, patient and most of all knowledgeable. I would highly recommend VoicePower to deliver training to anyone wishing to become competent using Dragon.
