VoicePower celebrates 20th birthday

This year VoicePower is celebrating its 20th birthday! We are very happy and proud to have reached this important milestone.

A huge thank you to the fantastic VoicePower team, our manufacturers and to our many loyal customers – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Since the early days, the team at VoicePower have come a long way, not just in terms of the business itself but also in the incredible developments and advances of the technology we supply.

Established in 1993, VoicePower’s initial focus was to supply home automation equipment as an assistive technology to help people with simple daily tasks such as opening and closing their curtains.

When speech recognition software for computers was becoming an interesting proposition, the company took the bold decision to follow this path and began supplying the software and the computers required to run the technology successfully to individuals and companies.

Since then, every year technology has advanced; home computers have become more capable of supporting speech recognition software and the software itself is unrecognisable from its earliest editions.

With all these improvements, the focus in 2013 is to offer clients with the right voice recognition solutions to suit their requirements. Client consultations are still the core of our business so that we can provide organisations with a clearer understanding of what they are paying for and how to get the most out of the technology we supply.

Despite technology being easier to use and often more intuitive, we believe that it is crucial for organisations to take into account the training we offer and to consider it as an integral part of the ‘solution’.

Twenty years on, speech technology is now the norm in our everyday world, from speaking into our mobiles, to phone calls, games consoles, the television and of course computers, who knew VoicePower would come full circle, and back to its roots of controlling your world with the spoken word.
