It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: A new year, a new clean slate with new possibilities.
With 2020 a distant memory, we can now all look to the future and what it may bring.
We’ve been doing some thinking of our own by wondering where technology will take us this year and so we’re making our own guesses in our technology predictions for 2021!
Cloud Technology
Now this had to be on our list, cloud technology is already making waves across businesses all over the world, it has already started to take-off.
We ourselves have moved our hosting over to the cloud with the help of Integral IT to ensure our client data is as secure as possible.
There are many benefits to cloud technology, that’s why we provide cloud solutions ourselves and why we were dedicated to become a part of the G-Cloud framework.

Speech Recognition
Yep, you guessed it, speech recognition software is going to become even more widely used in 2021.
I know we may be slightly biased, but this year we’ve seen the rise of the smart speaker with a 32% increase over January 2019.
That being said, we think it’s only a matter of time before the world of business incorporate the software too.
Since the pandemic businesses are looking at technology in a different light and with voice technology offering so many benefits, it’ll be exciting to see how it can change the professional setting.
Amazon Healthcare
The online superstore has been making big moves in the healthcare sector this year – Buying an online pharmacy service, an online symptom checker and virtual clinics to name a few!
Amazon themselves say: “We expect to tackle the most complex healthcare problems head on with simple solutions and a relentless pursuit of process improvement.” (Healthcare Digital, 2020).
We’re really excited to see how this venture develops in 2021 because let’s face it, the sector needs a revamp after the pressures of COVID.
The Home Office and Classroom
Remote working was something that was pretty much forced on businesses and schools all over the country in order to stay safe, however, we predict that this method of working will stay into the new year.
Business are enjoying the benefits of remote working and realising that the office isn’t the only way – Ourselves included! They’re saving on expenses, fitting more into their days and enjoying the lack of commute!
Therefore, we predict that business and schools will continue this way of working to some degree.
