Having joined VoicePower in 2000 I now feel very much part of the furniture! Over the years I have seen some very exciting changes to the speech technology we supply and also to the business as a whole.
Before I became a shareholding Director in 2006 I had a varied career at VoicePower, undertaking a number of roles. After University I decided to do some temping as I needed some cash! VoicePower was my second temping role and I have never looked back. I found myself a role and have basically continued in this vain, within areas such as finance, business development and training.
Then, in 2010 Vicky and I took a very exciting step and bought the company to ensure continuity for the fantastic employees and to keep a very successful business in Yorkshire.
I enjoy the consultancy aspect of our business the most which involves talking with clients and understanding what they want to achieve, recommending the solution which is best suited to their needs and working closely with them to see the project through to completion and beyond. I am very passionate about the technology we supply and the difference it can make to people’s lives whether this is on a personal level or productivity (often these overlap).
I live in Harrogate with my husband and two young children, and despite being incredibly busy juggling family life (mostly ferrying the children to various locations to sustain their social lives) and the business, I am at my happiest when I am spending quality time with my family.
